Wellbeing
At Duranbah Public School, we believe that student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. Our goal is for every student to feel safe, included, and supported as they grow and learn each day. We understand that each child is unique, and we are committed to creating a nurturing environment where every student at Duranbah feels valued and ready to engage fully in their education.
Whether your child needs support with their mental, emotional, social, or physical wellbeing, our dedicated staff and wellbeing programs are here to help them thrive both at school and in their daily lives. We work closely with families and the community to ensure that every student has access to the resources and care they need to succeed and build resilience. At Duranbah, we are proud to foster a positive school culture where wellbeing is central to learning and growth.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.
